Women With HART: Leanne Ford

You’ve heard the saying: “Strong women. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them.”
In celebration of Women’s History Month, we're honoring our friend and partner, Leanne Ford—interior designer, writer, and HGTV star. Keep reading to find out how she got her start in interior design, what her go-to tools are, and what books she’s reading her daughter, Ever, as she brings her up to be a strong woman herself.

Leanne Ford did not know her life would turn out this way. Before she got her start in interior design, she worked in fashion for 15 years — but she felt something was missing. With help from her family, she bought and restored a 1907 schoolhouse turned home in her native Pittsburgh, launching her interior design career and signature “white on white” style.

QUICK HITS
Old or new? Old
Black or white? Why answer that?
Favorite tools? Measuring tape and hammer. And as a mom, the hand vac!

Leanne looks to her mother and mother-in-law, sister and sisters-in-law, and daughter Ever for inspiration. As part of a brother-sister TV duo, she knows the importance of family — and finds strength in her strong family roots. She and her husband even moved back to Pittsburgh just to be closer to her family. The incredible food options and vintage shops don’t hurt!
